What can dads expect from their partner in the first week post partum?

So baby is out and you were finally hoping that the hormonal, irritable, uncomfortable, disruptive monster you have been living with for the last 8 weeks was going to cough up your once sweet and patient partner and dissappear until the next pregnancy came along.

What is lochia? How long does lochia last?

Lochia is postnatal bleeding. Once baby and placenta have left your womb there will still be some matter left in your womb. The matter which needs to be discharged is the lining of your womb and it is this which is called lochia.
Lochia will start like a heavy period and over a few weeks will turn to a light period and finally a pink then yellow-white discharge.
