Which double buggy is best for two children of different ages?

philted1Baby NuNu’s Gold Star goes to………The Phil and Ted Buggy and doubles kit!

With two small children I don’t know how I would have coped without a double buggy. We looked around for ages for a double buggy that would be just as useful for 1 baby (the oldest when I was still pregnant and the youngest when my older one gets too big). Most buggies are either side by side or one in front of another and are double or nothing. In the Phil and Ted there is the unique quality that it is a single buggy that can be added to to become a double buggy.

It is a 3 wheeled really comfortable and roomy buggy with an attachment which can be put underneath when baby is 6 months plus or can be put on the top with the bottom bunk as a bed for when your youngest is under 6 months so the older child can go on top. It is invaluable now that I look after another 1 year old aswell. It means that the 1 year olds can go in the buggy and the 3 year olds can walk.

It has loads of room underneath for shopping even when 2 babies are in it and super chunky bouncy wheels which make it fun ramming it up onto curbs.

It is a bit big to put in car boots but it does fit when you take the wheels off (which is a simple one handed move). Like most prams you can have the wheels on fixed or swivel mode but being a three wheeler is is a lot easier to move round corners and do on the spot turns with than the traditional 4 wheeler. When baby was little we also had a really cosy soft based carry cot that we put in. A bit like a sleeping bag with handles that I used totake out of the pram complete with baby and sling over my shoulder!
The after care service? Perfection. I once took the mud guards off and lost the screws which I needed to put the guards back. I emailed Phil & Ted (the company - probably not the real people!) to ask how I bought replacements and they sent me a free set the very next day.

So in conclusion - a bit bulky but well worth it. I love love love it and will get use out of it for another 3 years at least
